There's nothing you can do to persuade me, you're right. But some others have made points that I can't ignore when it comes to you. [That's all she's going to say on the matter. David's understanding of everything in full is something that she values, especially since he's a fresh eye on the situation.]

Maybe suggest that they make some kind of statement regarding it, too.
