Yes, this is Mister Holiday, isn't it?

[ Her tone stiffens a bit due to being nervous. ] Sorry, I'm still getting used to everything here. I'm one of the imPorts that recently arrived here so when it comes to things that might be suspicious, it's difficult to determine whether or not they are.

After all, I'm not sure what is abnormal and what is normal here.

No need to apologize, Miss. I understand everything must be awful confusin' still to most of you folks.

[ His tone isn't unfriendly, anyway. He encourages: ]

It isn't like me to look around at trash, but since I decided to practice a little for a business I have in mind, I kind of pay more attention to these sort of things.

I was checking out the docks Thursday morning and came across a suspicious looking item. A dark colored umbrella with a handle and tip missing from the top. If it was held up, the rain would just slip right through.

Oh, that's because it was hollow inside? It makes no sense to me because that would just make for a flimsy umbrella, but it didn't seem to have been a poor quality one.

Hmm.

[ He considers that for a moment in silence. ]

If you can remember -- would you say it looked like something may have been hidden in the handle before it was removed?

Yes, it's possible it could have been something like that. I was able to see right through it so it's strange that someone would have removed those pieces for an object meant to block out the rain.

It is strange. Whatever was kept in there obviously must have been important. Or they were trying to hide something.

Do you know where this umbrella is currently?

Along the docks. I doubt the wind's carried it off so you should be able to find it.

If not, I could try my hand at looking for it? I thought it was strange, but not enough to carry it back with me.

Good that you didn't, so don't worry about that. If there's fingerprints on it, we'll want to make sure they're clear. I'll send someone after it.
